1M1B among 21 non governmental organizations selected this year to associate with United Nations Department of Public Information

NewsPatrolling.com - 1M1B (1 Million for 1 Billion), an Indian not-for- profit focussed on jobs creation for youth and women in the villages of India has today announced its formal affiliation with the United Nations Department of Public Information.
1M1B Foundation along with 21 other non-governmental organization from various countries were selected by the United Nations Department of Public Information for disseminating information about United Nations priority issues and the role of the organization to the world. This aim of the collaboration is to work on a wide range of issues, including the Sustainable Development Goals highlighting education, environmental protection, cultural awareness, youth empowerment amongst others. 
In a message to the Civil Society Forum held in conjunction with the United Nations Commission for Social Development, on 31 January 2017, the UN Secretary General António Guterres indicated that “A strong civil society sector is central to advancing social progress”, stressing that the United Nations remains committed to seeking civil society’s “advice, expertise, support and partnership”.
In associating with the Department to inform the world about the work of the Organization, 1M1B will also be playing an important role in reminding Governments of their pledges, including the pledge made by all United Nations Member States to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. 1M1B has also expressed its intention to cooperate within the scope of the mandates and sphere of competences to work with the society, for the society in a proposed agenda to boost education, remove poverty, achieve equality and promote human rights and rural development particularly by empowering women and youth, engaging urban leaders and startups in rural areas, environmental protection, cultural awareness all around the globe.
Speaking on this partnership, Manav Subodh, Co-Founder of 1M1B, said “We are very excited and honoured to be affiliated with the UN Department of Public Information as this collaboration will not only promote the high ideals of the UN but also help us in our goal to activate a million young leaders and entrepreneurs who will drive a billion people out of poverty.
